JOB Project Engineer

Project Engineer

Main Duties

  • To liaise with internal colleagues on project requirements to ensure the scope of work is carried out in accordance with the specific project plan.
  • Assist to develop and take ownership of the assigned project schedule and update accordingly.
  • Assist with the planning of detailed schedules.
  • Assist Projects Manager with resource requirements.
  • Preparation of specific bids and proposals for potential projects, estimating costs, following up with customers and revising bids as needed.
  • Convert successful client bids to work orders, assist in the control and monitoring of costs and ensuring project requirements are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Responsible for delivery of products and services to clients ensuring these are suitably QA/QC approved and as per requirements.
  • Communication with customers directly when needed, especially via telephone, in order to ensure that bids and projects are progressed in the most efficient manner.
  • Assist with the compilation and completion of detailed Client and DSL Supervisor work packs.
  • Arrange and participate in project ‘kick off’ and ‘close out’ meetings.
  • Assist in checking and approval of specific project related documentation.
  • Monitoring / Managing project performance and highlight potential problem areas early within the project stages.
  • Review and assist with completing project specific Method Statements prior to issue for approval by the client.
  • Occasional attendance away from the DSL offices to fulfil project requirements (both UK and Overseas).
  • Participating in implementing specific risk assessments, lift plans and written procedures related to specific project requirements.
  • Be available to complete out of normal working hours project requirements (including e-mails, telephone calls, etc).
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with DSL HSE and QA Management systems.
  • Ensure that the business operates to the highest level of HSE standards and ensure safety compliance as per the Company’s HSE Manual 000 Section 4.

JOB INSPECTIONS MANAGER

PURPOSE OF JOB:

Responsible for developing and managing the Inspections Department and increase growth through BD activities in this aspect of the business.
Oversee the introduction of new inspections and associated surveys into the business, both in the UK and Overseas.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Oversee the day to day activities of the department and ensuring that the business is properly resourced for its order book
  • Development & launch of additional inspections services to the market
  • Preparation and submission of inspection quotations in accordance with client technical and commercial requirements.
  • Support marketing activities for the Inspections services
  • Undertake BD activities for the growth of the inspection revenue streams
  • Visit DSL overseas operations to support ongoing or new business accounts.
  • Identify training courses and training/competency requirements to ensure personnel are adequately and suitably qualified to perform required tasks.
  • Ensure that all site inspection activities are performed safely and in accordance with company procedures and applicable legislation.
  • Maintain contacts, scheduling of visits, and general promotion of company/customer relationship with a general awareness of current/future activities.
  • Educate and qualify company inspection personnel in order to offer a comprehensive and qualified service.
  • Liaise and support overseas subsidiaries with inspection contracts and tenders


PERSON SPECIFICATION

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
5 years Managerial experience within oil and gas related manufacturing and offshore services industry and at least another 5 years’ experience an engineer/technician and/or sales role associated with inspections services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong BD/Sales background associated with inspections business in the Industry
Knowledge of offshore and onshore petrochemical industry.
Detailed experience of rig condition surveys, Drops Surveys etc.

Qualified and experienced inspection personnel required for various inspection contracts throughout the MENA region;

  • LEEA qualified LGI Inspectors.
  • Offshore Crane Inspectors.
  • Rope Access (all levels) / NDT Inspectors
, qualified in at least 2 disciplines (ASNT or PCN), who also have a track record of API Derrick Inspections and/or DROPS Surveys.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience working on offshore and or land rigs is required to apply for the above positions. Robust and sound understanding of API and industry standards, electronic report writing and compilation is essential.

JOB Derrick Inspectors

We are actively seeking additional derrick inspectors for all our Worldwide locations to carry out API Cat III & IV inspections on offshore derricks and onshore masts and substructures.
JOB Derrick Inspections Personnel
DATE
We have positions available for personnel with experience of undertaking Derrick, Mast and Substructure inspections. The work is varied and involves both onshore and offshore rigs, worldwide, therefore candidates must be willing to travel extensively. You must also be able to convey a detailed knowledge of drilling structures and compile comprehenstive inspection reports and associated information via computer software. Applicaitons from personnel with NDT and/or Welding Inspector qualifications would be advantageous.
These positions are considered long term, at attractive rates and high earnings potential. Overseas candidates that match the above requirements would be welcome.
JOB Offshore / Site Construction Supervisors

We require additional Offshore & Site Construction Supervisors for offshore upgrade and refurbishment projects. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years offshore construction supervisory experience. Knowledge of drilling systems and/or derricks would be advantageous but not essential. Strong client and workforce liaison skills together with experience in producing and maintaining the applicable documentation is essential. Projects are both North Sea and Overseas. Suitable candidates can expect long term employment in these positions.
JOB Rope Access Personnel

We are recruiting rope access personnel with a trades or inspection background in the Industry for both derrick and other construction related activities for both North Seas and Overseas projects.
JOB Derrick/Land Rig Inspectors

DSL Middle East are recruiting Inspectors experienced in the inspection of offshore derricks and onshore mast and substructures to API 4G as well as experience in Dropped Object Surveys.

Inspectors must possess valid Offshore Survival/Medical and be IRATA certified. Applicants that are also LGI inspectors with LEEA qualification are welcome to apply.
Applicants not living in Dubai will be required to work a 6-2 week rotation. Must be required to work/travel throughout the MENA region as required. We would also welcome applications for personnel with Inspections co-ordination/operations experience.

Suitable candidates must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working on derricks and should ideally have a recognised rigging qualification and/or trade background. SCOPE

Opening of all major items of equipment for internal inspection as requested, for the purpose of a detailed examination of gear teeth, bearings, chains and ancillary parts for excessive wear, damage, cracks and other defects and for the measurements of clearances
Perform function testing, pressure testing, load testing and insulation resistance checks for all critical equipment on the drilling unit, as applicable

Conduct check on and ensure correct installation and working condition of safety devices for accident prevention and avoidance of equipment failures

Check availability of HSE standards and procedures related to safe operation of drilling and work-over rigs and safety of personnel and protection of environment

The efficiency and effectiveness of the Rig Preventive Maintenance Systems

REPORTS
Compilation of comprehensive reports and certification of compliance attesting that all inspection and repair/modification work has been satisfactorily completed in accordance with controlling codes and standards.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 5 years’ experience, Knowledge of Equipment, Industry Standards and Specifications
