JOB Project Engineer – Middle East

Due to continued expansion we have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join the Projects Team in our Hamriyah facility, assuming responsibility for a variety of tasks including: costing, producing/assisting with proposals, scheduling and managing a variety of projects associated with onshore and offshore drilling structures and systems, such as upgrades, refurbishment and new builds. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of in the Upstream Sector. Candidates should have a formal qualification in a mechanical engineering subject or be able to demonstrate several years’ proven experience in a similar role.

This is a long term position that would suit someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, confident with customer liaison, can take project from conception to conclusion and is able to rise to the challenges that such a position entails. This position may require travel within the Mena region, occasional offshore and overseas at times and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Preference will be given to candidates already resident in the UAE or Middle East. Commencement of employment will be no later than 1st March 2015.

Due to the continued growth of the business we now require an Offshore and Site Services Manager at our Great Yarmouth facility.

This position assumes responsibility for managing the recruitment and allocation of field personnel and the management of the day to day activities of personnel and associated resources for both offshore and onshore project requirements in the UK and overseas locations.

The responsibilities of the position includes adequate resourcing of projects, liaising and co-ordinating with the various departments for the successful planning, preparation and execution of site workscopes/projects.

The position also calls for the successful candidate to be able to demonstrate the ability to engage, manage, motivate and successfully communicate with all levels of staff, encouraging pro-active and productive dialogue with the site workforce to continually evolve safety awareness and competency within their roles.

The retention and development of relationships with customer representatives will be also be an important aspect of the position, and this may involve occasional travel.

This is a demanding position in which priorities can change daily; therefore applicants should possess the ability to manage the challenges that such changes can create.

•Day to day management of all site activities of the business, offshore and overseas.

•Daily communication with all Site Supervisors, and regular contact with customer representatives.

•Introduce formal pro-active engagement of our Site personnel to discuss improvement of our support of the site functions.

•Identify and introduce formal training of our Site Supervisors to arm them with the skills to protect both the site operations and Company interests.

•Liaise with the Training Department to ensure that adequate training and ongoing competency assessment of Site personnel is carried out.

•Liaise closely with the Projects Department to ensure that a smooth and seamless handover is achieved as any project enters its installation/site stage.

•Chair kick off meetings prior to mobilisation of site works/projects as and when required.

•Work closely with the Projects Department and other departments to ensure that the rolling forecast for the requirement of site resources is as accurate as possible, and to ensure that provision and planning of the required resources is achieved.

•Work closely with the Materials/Shipping Department to ensure that planning and procurement of equipment/materials for site works is achieved as required.

•Recruitment of new Site Supervisors and Field Personnel on an employed status.

•Transfer of the above mentioned to our subsidiary companies worldwide to ensure that we implement the same standards across the Group.

•Encourage feedback of all site personnel with regard to Company performance in supporting its site operations as well as any HSE concerns.

•Engage with the Company’s HSE Department to continue to evolve and improve the performance of the business to protect its employees and contractors in every aspect of its operations.

•Establish and maintain working relationships with customer representatives for both the execution of the works, and for obtaining feedback from the customer on our performance and possible areas of improvement.

•Occasional travel for customer meetings/follow up will be required, as would, where appropriate, site visits for gaining a better understanding of our typical day to day site operations/activities.

•Develop the department to enable it to manage continual growth.

Check availability of HSE standards and procedures related to safe operation of drilling and work-over rigs and safety of personnel and protection of environment

The efficiency and effectiveness of the Rig Preventive Maintenance Systems

Compilation of comprehensive reports and certification of compliance attesting that all inspection and repair/modification work has been satisfactorily completed in accordance with controlling codes and standards.

JOB Derrick Inspectors
We are actively seeking additional derrick inspectors for all our Worldwide locations to carry out API Cat III & IV inspections on offshore derricks and onshore masts and substructures.
JOB Derrick Inspections Personnel
We have positions available for personnel with experience of undertaking Derrick, Mast and Substructure inspections. The work is varied and involves both onshore and offshore rigs, worldwide, therefore candidates must be willing to travel extensively. You must also be able to convey a detailed knowledge of drilling structures and compile comprehenstive inspection reports and associated information via computer software. Applicaitons from personnel with NDT and/or Welding Inspector qualifications would be advantageous.
These positions are considered long term, at attractive rates and high earnings potential. Overseas candidates that match the above requirements would be welcome.
JOB Offshore / Site Construction Supervisors
We require additional Offshore & Site Construction Supervisors for offshore upgrade and refurbishment projects. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years offshore construction supervisory experience. Knowledge of drilling systems and/or derricks would be advantageous but not essential. Strong client and workforce liaison skills together with experience in producing and maintaining the applicable documentation is essential. Projects are both North Sea and Overseas. Suitable candidates can expect long term employment in these positions.
JOB Rope Access Personnel
We are recruiting rope access personnel with a trades or inspection background in the Industry for both derrick and other construction related activities for both North Seas and Overseas projects.
JOB Derrick/Land Rig Inspectors
DSL Middle East are recruiting Inspectors experienced in the inspection of offshore derricks and onshore mast and substructures to API 4G as well as experience in Dropped Object Surveys.

Inspectors must possess valid Offshore Survival/Medical and be IRATA certified. Applicants that are also LGI inspectors with LEEA qualification are welcome to apply.
Applicants not living in Dubai will be required to work a 6-2 week rotation. Must be required to work/travel throughout the MENA region as required. We would also welcome applications for personnel with Inspections co-ordination/operations experience.
