We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with a keen interest in Health and Safety who wishes to pursue a career within this field and within the Oil and Gas industry.

Applicants must be educated to A Level or equivalent and possess excellent administrative and communication skills and have experience in using Microsoft packages including power point.

The successful candidate will assist the HSE Manager in a variety of tasks and will study for the City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Health and Safety within the first year of employment.

MAIN DUTIES:
  • To assist the HSE Manager as directed with HSE matters.
  • To promote good HSE practice at all times.
  • To assist with HSE work site inspections and audits.
  • To assist with the investigation and documentation of HSE accidents, incidents, near miss scenarios.
  • To assist with the preparation of job specific “Work Risk Assessments”.
  • To assist with the communication of all HSE matters such as DROPS, COSHH, HAVS and the Safety Champion program as instructed.
  • To participate and assist with Safety Tool Box Talks.
  • To seek assistance where required from the HSE manager, and other DSL Management as required.

  • A structured and organised individual with a willingness to learn on the job under instruction
  • As the role will require frequent site visits and some climbing of stairs and access egress routes, the individual will need to be fit and active.

JOB Business Development & Inspections Manager – Middle East

Due to continued growth in our inspections services we now have a position available for Business Development & Inspections Manager in our UAE operation. The position is responsible for the continued development of our inspections services, business development activities, and the development and day to day running of the associated department. Our Inspections services typically includes rig condition surveys, drilling structures inspection and dropped objects Inspections, supply of bespoke software etc. to both onshore and offshore installations.

The ideal applicant must have a minimum of 5 years experience as an Inspections Manager or Operations manager in an Inspections type business in the upstream sector of the Industry in the ME or Asia.

Candidates will also be required to demonstrate a strong background in business development associated with inspections services, as well as being able to work with the minimum of supervision.

You should be fully conversant with all routine inspections associated with Drilling Units, MODU's etc. as well as being computer literate.
The position will be based in Hamriyah UAE but regular travel will be a feature of this position both in the MENA Region and Asia.

Drilling Structures Inspectors – Middle East/Asia

We are recruiting additional Drilling Structures Inspectors for our ME and Asia operations on MODU’s and Land Rigs and would like to hear from candidates who have experience of drilling structures inspection to API 4G Cat III/IV, Dropped Object Surveys, and/or drilling structures repair/manufacture.

Candidates should have a good command of the English language both written and verbal, be computer literate and able to work in an unsupervised environment in a variety of locations. A rope access qualification and NDT qualifications would be advantageous.
The positions have long term possibilities and further training/qualification will be provided to successful candidates.

JOB INSPECTIONS MANAGER

PURPOSE OF JOB:

Responsible for developing and managing the Inspections Department and increase growth through BD activities in this aspect of the business.
Oversee the introduction of new inspections and associated surveys into the business, both in the UK and Overseas.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Oversee the day to day activities of the department and ensuring that the business is properly resourced for its order book
  • Development & launch of additional inspections services to the market
  • Preparation and submission of inspection quotations in accordance with client technical and commercial requirements.
  • Support marketing activities for the Inspections services
  • Undertake BD activities for the growth of the inspection revenue streams
  • Visit DSL overseas operations to support ongoing or new business accounts.
  • Identify training courses and training/competency requirements to ensure personnel are adequately and suitably qualified to perform required tasks.
  • Ensure that all site inspection activities are performed safely and in accordance with company procedures and applicable legislation.
  • Maintain contacts, scheduling of visits, and general promotion of company/customer relationship with a general awareness of current/future activities.
  • Educate and qualify company inspection personnel in order to offer a comprehensive and qualified service.
  • Liaise and support overseas subsidiaries with inspection contracts and tenders


PERSON SPECIFICATION

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
5 years Managerial experience within oil and gas related manufacturing and offshore services industry and at least another 5 years’ experience an engineer/technician and/or sales role associated with inspections services.

JOB Derrick Inspections Personnel

We have positions available for personnel with experience of undertaking Derrick, Mast and Substructure inspections. The work is varied and involves both onshore and offshore rigs, worldwide, therefore candidates must be willing to travel extensively. You must also be able to convey a detailed knowledge of drilling structures and compile comprehenstive inspection reports and associated information via computer software. Applicaitons from personnel with NDT and/or Welding Inspector qualifications would be advantageous.
These positions are considered long term, at attractive rates and high earnings potential. Overseas candidates that match the above requirements would be welcome.
JOB Offshore / Site Construction Supervisors

We require additional Offshore & Site Construction Supervisors for offshore upgrade and refurbishment projects. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years offshore construction supervisory experience. Knowledge of drilling systems and/or derricks would be advantageous but not essential. Strong client and workforce liaison skills together with experience in producing and maintaining the applicable documentation is essential. Projects are both North Sea and Overseas. DSL Middle East are recruiting Inspectors experienced in the inspection of offshore derricks and onshore mast and substructures to API 4G as well as experience in Dropped Object Surveys.

Inspectors must possess valid Offshore Survival/Medical and be IRATA certified. Applicants that are also LGI inspectors with LEEA qualification are welcome to apply.
Applicants not living in Dubai will be required to work a 6-2 week rotation. Must be required to work/travel throughout the MENA region as required. We would also welcome applications for personnel with Inspections co-ordination/operations experience.

Perform function testing, pressure testing, load testing and insulation resistance checks for all critical equipment on the drilling unit, as applicable

Conduct check on and ensure correct installation and working condition of safety devices for accident prevention and avoidance of equipment failures

Check availability of HSE standards and procedures related to safe operation of drilling and work-over rigs and safety of personnel and protection of environment

The efficiency and effectiveness of the Rig Preventive Maintenance Systems

REPORTS
Compilation of comprehensive reports and certification of compliance attesting that all inspection and repair/modification work has been satisfactorily completed in accordance with controlling codes and standards.
