JOB IT ASSISTANT

We are looking to recruit an experienced individual with enthusiasm and drive to assist and support the IT Department.

Applicants must have solid previous experience in a Windows Desktop Support role and must be a confident communicator, problem solver and be able to work alone using their own initiative as well as being a good team player.

Duties will include standard desktop configuration management/office systems, assisting with maintaining and developing IT systems, report writing and providing remote and local IT systems support to DSL’s offices and personnel in the UK and overseas. There will be a requirement to provide out of hours IT support on an ad hoc basis.
This role will suit someone who also has a keen interest in IT development, and is looking to further their career skills in database and programming languages.

JOB PROPOSALS ENGINEER – GREAT YARMOUTH

Due to continued expansion we have an opportunity for a Proposals Engineer to join our Proposals Department and assume responsibility for the creation and provision of a wide range of timely delivered proposals to our global customer base. The role holder will be required to create and maintain a library of templates, supporting documents and information to allow proposals and customer’s technical queries to be expedited in an efficient and professional manner. Previous experience with an Oil & Gas drilling contractor or upstream service type company would be advantageous as would cost estimating experience.

The position should attract someone who enjoys working in a proactive and positive environment and is able to rise to the challenges that our industry entails.

MAIN DUTIES:

Maintain the proposals logging and management system.

Log any RFQs direct from customers, from other departments and from the sales team into the CRM system to enable efficient management of the proposal process.
With the Proposals Manager, continuously seek to improve the proposals system and range of master templates and supporting documents to expedite the process more efficiently.

Engage in regular meetings within the department to cover issues and ideas on process improvement.

Keep abreast of the latest industry and business working methods, technologies, legislation and good practice procedures to ensure that templates and supporting documents are current and applicable to our customer’s business and environment.

Work directly with customers to retrieve and provide proposal information as required.

Work with Manager to support additional resource to cope with increased workload and a more diverse range of proposals as required.

Help to develop a Group wide proposals system that will draw upon and adapt the library of masters and information created at DSL UK.

JOB DSL Requires Mechanical Engineers

DSL requires Mechanical Engineers to undertake inspection of drilling related equipment as part of rig audit/acceptance requirements at overseas locations.

SCOPE
Review of all rig equipment certification and inspection of all critical safety elements of the equipment that could be expected to cause operational downtime when a mechanical failure occurs.

INSPECTION SERVICES

Analysis of equipment condition and standards of maintenance, in accordance with API Standards and Equipment Manufacturer's Specifications and Recommendations

Opening of all major items of equipment for internal inspection as requested, for the purpose of a detailed examination of gear teeth, bearings, chains and ancillary parts for excessive wear, damage, cracks and other defects and for the measurements of clearances
Perform function testing, pressure testing, load testing and insulation resistance checks for all critical equipment on the drilling unit, as applicable

Conduct check on and ensure correct installation and working condition of safety devices for accident prevention and avoidance of equipment failures

Check availability of HSE standards and procedures related to safe operation of drilling and work-over rigs and safety of personnel and protection of environment

The efficiency and effectiveness of the Rig Preventive Maintenance Systems

REPORTS
Compilation of comprehensive reports and certification of compliance attesting that all inspection and repair/modification work has been satisfactorily completed in accordance with controlling codes and standards.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 5 years’ experience, Knowledge of Equipment, Industry Standards and Specifications

JOB Project Engineer

Due to continued expansion we have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join the Projects Team in our Great Yarmouth Office, assuming responsibility for a variety of tasks including: costing, producing client quotes and scheduling and managing a variety of projects associated with onshore and offshore drilling structures and systems. The ideal candidate will have experience of the upstream Oil and Gas Industry and knowledge of derricks and drilling rigs/systems. Previous experience with a drilling contractor or upstream service business dealing with rig upgrades/refurbishment/decom would be advantageous. Candidates should have a formal qualification in a mechanical engineering subject or be able to demonstrate several years experience in a similar role.

This is a permanent position that would suit someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, confident with customer liaison, can take a project from conception to conclusion and is able to rise to the challenges that such a position entails. This position may require travel within the UK and overseas at times and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

JOB OFFSHORE SERVICES MANAGER – GREAT YARMOUTH

Due to the continued growth of the business we have now created the position of Offshore Services Manager at our Great Yarmouth facility.

This position assumes responsibility for the management of the day to day activities of the personnel and associated resources for our field staff both offshore and onshore in the UK and overseas locations.

Responsibilities include ensuring that projects/contracts are adequately resourced, liaising with the Project Management department and customers with regard to their ongoing requirements and with field supervisors.

Other responsibilities will typically include ensuring project documentation is prepared to support onsite project activities, managing the recruitment and allocation of field personnel.
This is a demanding position in which priorities can change daily; therefore applicants should possess the ability to manage such fluctuations as well as the pressure that such changes can create.

Suitable candidates will need to possess very strong man management skills, good communication skills at all levels, a proven background in a similar role of managing
Oil & Gas industry field staff personnel/projects and have considerable years’ upstream experience.

DSL, as part of its core business activities, undertakes a variety of Inspections on onshore and offshore Drilling & Production installations Worldwide, including Derrick Inspections, Dropped Object Surveys etc. These services are now being enhanced by specific training and the introduction of dedicated software systems as part of our strategy to grow this element of the business.

Due to continued and increasing demand for these services we now wish to appoint a Manager to develop the department and contribute to the continued growth of these services Worldwide through our overseas operations.

The ideal candidate should have held a similar position within the Industry for at least 3 years, preferably experienced in the Upstream sector of the Industry and should be able to demonstrate a reasonable level of business acumen and operational skills. JOB Derrick Inspectors

We are actively seeking additional derrick inspectors for all our Worldwide locations to carry out API Cat III & IV inspections on offshore derricks and onshore masts and substructures.
JOB Derrick Inspections Personnel
DATE
We have positions available for personnel with experience of undertaking Derrick, Mast and Substructure inspections. The work is varied and involves both onshore and offshore rigs, worldwide, therefore candidates must be willing to travel extensively. You must also be able to convey a detailed knowledge of drilling structures and compile comprehenstive inspection reports and associated information via computer software. Applicaitons from personnel with NDT and/or Welding Inspector qualifications would be advantageous.
These positions are considered long term, at attractive rates and high earnings potential. Overseas candidates that match the above requirements would be welcome.
JOB Offshore / Site Construction Supervisors

We require additional Offshore & Site Construction Supervisors for offshore upgrade and refurbishment projects. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years offshore construction supervisory experience. Knowledge of drilling systems and/or derricks would be advantageous but not essential. Strong client and workforce liaison skills together with experience in producing and maintaining the applicable documentation is essential. Projects are both North Sea and Overseas. Suitable candidates can expect long term employment in these positions.

We are recruiting rope access personnel with a trades or inspection background in the Industry for both derrick and other construction related activities for both North Seas and Overseas projects.
JOB Derrick/Land Rig Inspectors
DATE
DSL Middle East are recruiting Inspectors experienced in the inspection of offshore derricks and onshore mast and substructures to API 4G as well as experience in Dropped Object Surveys.

Inspectors must possess valid Offshore Survival/Medical and be IRATA certified. Applicants that are also LGI inspectors with LEEA qualification are welcome to apply.
Applicants not living in Dubai will be required to work a 6-2 week rotation. Must be required to work/travel throughout the MENA region as required. We would also welcome applications for personnel with Inspections co-ordination/operations experience.
