What goes up must come down, SAFELY.
We have extensive experience in the removal of Drilling Derricks from platform
installations and mobiles, mostly utilising the "Floating
Ginpole" equipment.
Again this type of work is carried out by our Rig Building Crews, however,
there is usually a significant amount of work that goes into the planning, risk
assessment and project specific procedures/method statements before removal
takes place, so as to ensure that the decommissioning is
carried out in an entirely safe and controlled environment.
Of course it is also important to ensure that the integrity of the structure is
maintained at all times during the dismantling of a Derrick, especially if
there is the chance of adverse weather conditions during any part of the
process.
As and when required, our in-house engineering department can evaluate and
calculate the status of the structure so as to make sure that no single stage
of the decommissioning process creates any risk.
