Perenco 49/23A Integrity Improvement Project
16th May 2016
Our client made the decision to undertake an extensive program of integrity improvement to the Inde 49/23 Alpha Platform located in the SNS South utilizing a jack up accommodation barge – Sea Fox 1.
The Inde 49/23 Alpha was installed over 40 years ago and has gone beyond its intended field life of circa 25 years, and is in need of extensive integrity remedial works.
Market forecasts suggest that a further ‘life’ of 10-15 years will be required from this Platform due to new Hydro-Carbon retrieval technology. To meet this requirement the platform structural & pipe-work integrity was to be brought up to a standard to ensure that future major works will be unnecessary, also to avoid the possibility of constraining or restricting production from the platform, due to integrity issues.
The 23 Alpha installation comprises of a three jacket single platform arrangement, located approximately off the coast of East Anglia in the SNS. The oldest part of the asset was installed in 1972 and additions in 1979 and 1980.
DSL (UK) Ltd were awarded the contract to carry out various fabric maintenance and construction related scopes on the Inde 49/23 Alpha and these will include removal of redundant equipment, steelwork and vessels, installation of new structural steel work, modifications and repairs as detailed below.
DSL completed in excess of 130,000 man hours in total without Incident on this project, over 4500 of these hours were actual On-rope hours also without incident
