DSL are currently working on phase II of a project for one of our clients reassembling The Ram Rig Structure on one of their vessels whilst located in Las Palmas to enable them to commence drilling operations.
Phase I of the project was to dismantle the structure to allow travel through the Bosphorus passage into the Mediterranean sea.
Work scopes undertaken by our team of Multi-disciplined Rig-Builders in a safe and efficient manner during phase I & phase II of the project included but not limited to the below;
- Removal/installation of all the interface material at the split point of the ram rig structure, access ladders, utility lines, winch wires and electric cables/tray.
- Removal/Installation of the riser fingers to allow the space to erect the lifting towers used to lower/raise the top section of the Ram Rig
- Installing a steel support frame to lower/raise the top section of the ram rig. The frame is designed to allow the jacking and skidding of the top section onto the Fagioli lifting elevator/towers. The steel frame also maintains the geometry of the original structure to minimise alignment issues during transit and re-connection
