Noble Discoverer

Noble Discoverer – DSL wins contract to upgrade and recertify the derrick on-board the Noble Discoverer for severe cold weather working. The contract involves considerable re-engineering of the derrick, most of which was done in a previous engineering study contract, to accurately establish the detailed reactions of the derrick materials whilst operating in extreme cold weather. The contract now progresses to the design, manufacture and installation of the modification and enhancement package for the derrick, as well as a complete derrick bolt change.
The work scope also includes the design, supply and installation of heat tracing up the derrick legs to the racking board, as well as insulation of these legs. The installation phase will be carried out in Korea.
